Guests playing for pets at the BrewFest

Bay Area Humane Society and animal shelter has become a staple in Green Bay for more than 52 years. It has been able to run for so long thanks to donations from people from Green Bay. Each year, the humane society holding a fundraising event to preserve the shelter, including BrewFest 11 November at the Hotel Sierra.

BrewFest is beer, wine and food sampling event. Twelve local restaurants and 45 breweries and wineries set the table with samples of their products for our guests to enjoy.

"I think it's more of a party atmosphere since informal," said Niec, Jan humane society employees. "Everybody come in jeans and t-shirts, ready to have the evening fun."

This year, Casino events LLC organizes a charity event BrewFest also gambling on. People can play poker, black jack and roulette in order to cover the cost of $ 35. Participants will receive a chip that can be exchanged for lottery tickets. More chips won, the more likely customers will have won a prize. This year's top prize is a trip to Las Vegas. Second prize is a cooking journey to Chicago. The winner will have the opportunity to spend an afternoon with cooking professional team.

The Humane society has held BrewFest for 19 years.

Animals for life: annual pet adoption and Holiday Celebration

Animals for life, a non-profit animal rescue organization, will host the annual adoption of pets and holiday celebration from 10 am-3 pm Saturday, December 3, at Nonnewaug High School, 5 Minortown Rd., Woodbury.

Animals for life is a no-kill animal shelter in 1 Service Road, Middlebury.

According to the animal for life website, shelters help cats and dogs get adopted into a forever home.

"Every pet in our care receive examination, vaccination and animal spayed or neutered prior to adoption," the website said.

Those who are interested in adopting a pet can visit the shelter. Dogs and puppies of different ages, sizes, and breeds that are available for viewing at the shelter. Some cats and kittens are available at the shelter.

Woman attacked, dogs stolen in San Francisco restaurants

Two women were arrested and police were searching for two others after allegedly attacking two girls and stealing their dogs in a restaurant in San Francisco's Bernal Heights neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The robbery was reported around 3: 00 pm Sunday in a restaurant at 3300 block of Mission Street.

The victim, aged 38 and 47, eat at the restaurant when the four suspects, who knew the victim, came and threatened to beat them, according to police.

The victim ran out of the restaurant, and as one walks towards the car, the suspect grabbed and pushed it a wall, then steal a dog that was in the car, police said.

The suspect who escaped with the dog and the victim flagged down police, who were able to capture the two women. Police have not released the name this morning.

Austin animal Center will open in time for the shelter reform week

Residents of Austin are proud city

Voters approved a $ 12 million facility located at 7201 Levander Loop Betty Dunkerley campus in 2006 and broke ground in the spring of last year.
